April Clay was born and raised in Suffern, New York. She always felt encouraged as an artist, as she was born into a family of actors, artists and dancers. April attended Pratt institute in Brooklyn, Ny. where she studied fine arts and illustration. She transferred to The School of Visual Arts and went on to study children’s book illustration. Her studies continued at Rockland Community College in computer graphics and graphic design.

April feels the unique juxtaposition of her various experiences has created a style that, though it surely reflects her influences, is all her own.

April currently lives with her partner, Glen and 4 cats (!) just outside of Boston in Arlington, Ma.
